Slovenci vrnili Hrvatom v Zagrebu s številno udeležbo na turnirju Importanne Resort

Šport zagotovo združuje in povezuje ljudi. To se je potrdilo tudi na nedeljskem turnirju v Zagrebu, 22.5.2011. Odnosi med Hrvaško in Slovenijo so vedno boljši, dokaz za to je rekordno število igralcev golfa na zadnjih dveh turnirjih International Managers Cup &Open Tour. Skoraj 50 Slovencev je izkoristilo prelep dan umeščen med dve nevihti za igranje tretjega turnirja IMC&OT 2011. 

100 igralcev si je polepšalo majsko nedeljo za druženje s prijatelji in znanci, ki ta turnir ne jemljejo le kot mesto srečanja različnih narodnosti ampak tudi kot mesto navezovanja poslovnih stikov.

Turnir je potekal na velikem in malem igiršču.  Oba sta bila dobro urejena, le da je večje igrišče veliko bolj dramatično ter obdano z množico jezer, ki so zaščitni znak tega prelepega igrišča. Slednja omogočijo prenekateremu igralcu, da zamenja igralno žogico z novo ali vsaj staro umije.  

Častni pokrovitelj je bil g. Jaki Franja, spoštovani in zelo priljubljen igralec s hendikepom 11, ki je poskrbel za brezplačno odlično kavo Franja in za lepe nagrade. V prvem častnem "flightu"  je poleg g. Franja igrala tudi predstavnica sponzorja, članica uprave Importanne-ja ga. Marija Opić,  sosponzor g. Robert Krempl iz podjetja Reflex ter iniciator lige g. Marko Korač. 

Takoj za njimi pa so nastopili golfisti, ki se že borijo za najvišje skupne  uvrstitve.  Za skupno razvrstitev letos šteje pet turnirjev od devetih. Hrvaška se na področju golfa lepo razvija. Še posebej je obetaven »mega« projekt na Srdu nad Dubrovnikom. Tako primerno raste interes  za golf in s tem tudi kvaliteta igralcev, ki bodo tudi v tej sezoni zagotovo posegali po najvišjih mestih lige IMC&OT2011. Zagotovo je omenjen projekt več sto milijonske eurske naložbe, eden od največjih golfskih investicij v regiji  in verjamemo, da bo IMC&OT liga tam v prihodnosti našla termin za kakšen turnir.

Sledita dva turnirja ki sta vsak zase zelo zanimiva. Na Royal Balaton Golf &Yacht Club-u, ki je zame eno od najlepših in dramatičnih igrišč umeščenih med dva madžarska nacionalna parka, s prekrasnim pogledom na jezero Balaton. Vsi ki so lansko leto prišli prvič iz igrišča so se strinjali, da je  neizmerno lepo in težko ter da se bodo vrnili. Lansko leto je bilo samo iz Hrvaške in Slovenije več kot 75 igralcev. Častni pokrovitelj "turnirja K&H Bank" bo dr. Miklós Szócska, minister za zdravje v trenutno predsedujoči državi EU.

Pred 8 leti sem si šel iz radovednosti pogledati golfsko igrišče Austerlitz pri Brnu. Takrat je imelo igrišče le 9 jamic .Po nekaj letih ob enaki priložnosti sem še odigral novih 9. Moram reči, da je igrišče s svojo dinamiko naredilo name izreden vtis, odlična trava, prekrasen pogled na svetovno znan dvorec s parkom (znotraj njegovega obzidja še s Pitch & putt igriščem) in še bolj znano Napoleonovo bitko pri Austelitzu. Samo igrišče navdušuje s 120 ogromnimi globokimi peščenimi ovirami. Častni pokrovitelj "turnirja Kovintrade" bosta kar dva: lastnik TV Brno in predsednik nogometnega kluba Brno g. Roman Pros in ga. Smiljana Knez, veleposlanice Republike Slovenije v Češki republiki.

The “African Queen” and the Bora Shake Up the Roster of Managers from Milan to Split

IMC&OT

The spring sun and the exceptionally well prepared course in Trieste held up very nicely against the Bora that unexpectedly provided additional excitement at the VILLA AFRICAN QUEEN tournament, the first tournament of the world’s biggest golf league for managers – the International Manager’s Cup & Open Tour 2011.

Organised for the fifth year, this year’s league takes place across seven countries, at nine tournaments starting in Trieste on 16 April and ending on 16 October at the Golf Grad Otočec course in Slovenia.

Operating in a manner not unlike the Bora, the organiser stirred the player groups extremely well. Varied mixes of managers ranging from Milan to Split played in groups of four. The aim of the league is to bring golfers closer, to allow them to become friends and to exchange experience and business ideas during pleasant socialising.

The Bora ‘assisted’ many golfers while others found it an excellent ‘excuse’ for a somewhat poorer result. In line with the gross overall score, the cup went to managers Ms. Adriana Krušič and Mr. Giulio Rovatti. The fight for the overall league winner has thus begun.
In the upcoming months, 650 players will be vying for the large Steklarna Rogaška crystal cups, which marked this tournament along with the lucky prize winners at the traditionally rich drawing that took place after the cup awarding ceremony.

The sponsor of the tournament prepared attractive prizes ranging from traditional African statuettes to free rental of a villa in the South African Republic. Many prizes in the total value of several thousand euros were awarded – a regular occurrence at the IMC&OT.
The organisers of the IMC&OT, especially Marko and Peter, have prepared well for the new season. The organising committee increased from three members to five, and has adopted several new approaches in an attempt to preserve the most popular golf league in five neighbouring countries, and, for the first time ever, to establish it in the Czech Republic and in Germany. The organisers’ pleasant appearance was courtesy of Benetton who dressed them in Playlife’s youthful clothing. The honorary sponsor of last year’s league was Mr. Gilberto Benetton himself.

The large number of players at the first tournament (over one hundred) is a confirmation that the IMC&OT is gaining in popularity. We are delighted that many players from various countries are participating in the tournament. This year, the organisers expect players from over 15 countries.

Notably, the players’ ranks include a Milanese theatre manager, Italian and Slovenian managers, professors, managers of clinics and others. Of note is the fact that despite the growing number of golf players among managers, the number of VIP tournaments and tournament players is falling. On the other hand, the IMC&OT league tournaments are always full to capacity and expectations for the upcoming events in Ljubljana-Smlednik and in Zagreb also predict full capacity and a waiting list.

To achieve an overall win in the Stableford Gross and Net matches, the players must achieve the highest score, calculated by taking into account the five best scores from the individual tournaments, or from all of them if the player does not take part in more than five tournaments.
